Initial Response to the Brief

After first looking at the brief, and even beforehand, I knew that I wanted to my project to be focused on music. It's something I'm passionate about, so I know it will be enjoyable for me to but I can also choose something that is a bit of a challenge for me to complete and go outside of my comfort zone a little bit.

I'm not exactly sure on what area of music I want to focus on for my project, as it is also a matter of what area of music I can do a project about that I will be able to complete in time.

The area that springs to mind which could be realistic for my project is about music venues, specifically independent and grassroots ones as I know they have gone through a lot in the past few years, especially since COVID. I know from prior knowledge too and going to a lot of gigs that we have quite a few of these venues here in Nottingham, which is useful too considering one element of our project is for it to have a focus on Nottingham as our articles could end up going in the college magazine.

For our project as well we have to do an article, and either a podcast or TV film. I'm not sure which of the latter two I want to do yet, but I know that whatever I choose will be my secondary piece. I want my article to be my primary piece as I know I can write in good detail about anything to do with music, and I feel I am stronger at writing compared to making a podcast or film as I am not the best technically with putting things like that together.
