In the second week of the project, I decided to start creating my pitch. I wanted to make it appealing to those who I was showing it to, so for my opening slide decided to create a collage of Nottingham's music venues.

With only 5 minutes for the pitch, I had to decide what elements would be the best to focus on the pitch in the hope to cover all bases of what I aim to do in this project. These were the headlines for the slides I wanted to do:
Why I chose this idea
How I will complete my project
Timeline
Final outcome
I learnt for my pitch too not to include that many words on the slide as it was better for me to explain my idea to my colleagues so I tried not to do that. This is what I have come up with for my first slide, explaining why I wanted to do my idea.

A few days later, we went through a presentation of how to structure a pitch and what to include in it. I decided to add another slide into it, of who I planned to interview/contact. We were also given a checklist of what we needed to include in the pitch, which is something I will try and stick to.
I also realised that I need to have a hook to my presentation to make it more enticing, and decided that I wanted to try and include a song in the opening slide that matched my question. I'm struggling to find one that fits at the moment, but I'm struggling to think of another hook.
Over the half term I continued to make my pitch but still found it really tricky to do so. I managed to make some slides for it, explaining why I chose my idea and why I thought it was an important topic to cover.

Thankfully though, the following week we got a recap on what we needed to do for our pitch, and the 3 key points for it: entertain, inform, educate. I realised that the slide opposite I had made for my presentation had too much text, and that I needed to edit it to make it easier for people to read and understand.

I then proceeded to edit my pitch, leaving only title slides in my PowerPoint and making 3 pages of notes to have in front of me during my pitch, which I found was actually a lot easier to do than reading off of the slides. To the right is an example of a slide that I used in my presentation, and below that is one of the pages of notes that I made in preparation for my presentation:

On Wednesday, we then presented our pitches in front of the class, and mine went quite well. The only problem that I had was that my first slide I made for my presentation (a collage of images of all local venues and some gig photos), couldn't be put up on the screen as it ended up making the file too large to show, which is a lesson to be learned! During each of our presentations too, Kev made some feedback notes of how we were doing, but I am yet to receive that as of yet.
